SET OF 4 DOUBLE-SIDED WINCHESTER CARDBOARD SIGNS. From March 1920 through 1928, Winchester produced sets of cardboard panels designed to be inserted into a hinged wood frame for the store retailer to use as a window display. The sets were dated with the specific week or weeks Winchester intended the retailer to display them, with the products portrayed corresponding to the appropriate season. It is believed that approximately 100 different sets were produced in all. Originally part of a set of 5, these signs were intended as a store window display for the months of April and May 1922. One side of the signs has cutlery and knives while the reverse is a sepia-colored baseball scene promti9ng their line of baseball equipment. SIZE: Each 18-1/4″ w. x 40″ t. CONDITION: A few nail holes around perimeter of each panel; overall soiling and scuffs to the baseball scene. 1-9658 (500-1,000)
