UNUSUAL PORTRAIT-TYPE JUMEAU. Hauntingly beautiful doll incised only with a “12” with large blue paperweight eyes, pierced applied ears, well defined double chin with deep modeling especially around the mouth and lower chin area. She was lovingly referred to by her owner as Emily. She is on a fully jointed wood and composition French body which is unmarked and wears an interesting two piece lavender felt wool costume with ribbon trim in a geometric design as well as authentic Jumeau shoes impressed on the sole “12 Paris Depose”. In addition she retains her original white leather French gloves. Wig is antique blond mohair which covers cork pate. Completing costume is a navy blue wool sailor’s cap with gold lettering “Tapageur”. SIZE: 25″ (64cm). CONDITION: Very good; inherent minor surface scratch on right side of forehead.
