GRAND POUPEE BY JUMEAU ON WOODEN BODY. Rare sized Jumeau portrait fashion with head incised “12” at the base of the neck. She has softly painted facial features, almond shaped blue paperweight eyes, mauve shading on the upper eyelids, applied ears, with separate bisque shoulder plate and is on her original fully articulated wooden body with joints at wrists, elbows, shoulders, hips and knees. She wears her original blond mohair wig with bangs over cork pate. She is dressed in period white cotton undergarments with monogrammed white blouse “AG” and wears an antique two piece lace dress with applied pink velvet floral designs with sequins and a pink velvet sash at the waist, and an elaborate cream silk and lace hat, perhaps a child’s bonnet from the 1870s. SIZE: 32″ h (81cm). CONDITION: Excellent with some typical paint wear especially at fingers and joints, a few minor color rubs on cheeks.
