FRENCH OFFICERS FUSIL. Cal. 70. 40-1/2” part oct bbl. Marked “S. Etienne / M fre Royale”. The pan has a rotating brass cover. The frizzen is cupped to accommodate the safety. There are three gold cartouches, one on each of the other three flats on the rear of the bbl. CONDITION: Bbl has been cleaned & toned. Lock is sharp with some light patina. Ramrod and the front bbl band are replacements. Large chip missing at end of forestock & other cracks in the lock area. Mechanically fine. 4-57232 X69 (3,000-5,000)
