DOOR OF HOPE: AMAH & CHILD. From the Chinese Door of Hope Mission, the Amah with carved wooden head and painted hair in bun wears traditional knee length tunic, ankle length trousers and cloth shoes with turned-up toes. The elaborately dressed child is supported on her back and tied to neck of her caregiver by a brown cloth bunting. The child’s costume is quite elaborate with brocade hat, shoes with floral design and floral printed linen clothing. SIZE: Amah is 10-1/2” (27cm) t. Child being 5” (13cm) t.
