WHIMSICAL SWORDFISH SWORD. Third quarter 20th century. The sword, “From a swordfish caught by Dr. Frederic Breed off Martha’s Vineyard August, 1967 mounted by C. B. Stockbridge Gloucester, Mass.”, with a pen and ink drawing on the reverse of the blade depicting a fishing shack with seawall, dory, and fishing boat on choppy water with gulls flying in the background. The fanciful hilt carved in the form of a folk art fish. SIZE: 39-1/2″ l. CONDITION: In very nice original condition. 9-97233 (500-750)
