TINY UNMARKED FRENCH BEBE. Charming small doll with head incised “1” and also bears red stamped artist marks typical of those found on Jumeau dolls. She has tiny blue paperweight eyes, closed mouth, multistroke eyebrows, pierced ears and is on her original fully jointed wood and French composition body with straight wrists. Costume is a period French cotton gauze chemise, pleated in front with maroon inserted silk ribbon and lace trim. Wig is newer mohair over cork pate and shoes are newer brown leather but extremely well made. SIZE: 8-1/4″ (21cm) t. CONDITION: Nice even cheek coloring; body finish original with only minor typical age wear. 1-12453 (2,500-3,500)
