SHAKUDO BOX. 18th century, possibly earlier, China. Four gilt reserves of flowering peony trees amongst birds on a punched fishrow ground. Lid similarly carved. Gilt interior and base. SIZE: 1-1/4″ h x 2-3/4″ l x 2″ w. CONDITION: Very good with normal and expected nicks and scratches to bottom. Nice surfaces and patina. 7-73335 (300-500)
