CLARENCE HAILEY (British, Late 19th Century) PAIR OF THOROUGHBRED HORSE PORTRAITS. Both photographic prints are paper laid on canvas housed in black painted thin molded wood frames. Both are pencil signed and titled “St. Simon” and “1Sunglass”. St. Simon (1881 – April 2, 1908) was an undefeated British Thoroughbred racehorse and one of the most successful sires in the history of the Thoroughbred. The other a British racing thoroughbred. SIZE: Sight: 15-1/2″ x 21-1/2″. PROVENANCE: Estate of Henry A. Rudkin Jr, (family of the founders of Pepperidge Farm). CONDITION: One without glass front, both have toning, foxing and stains. 9-98981 (100-200)
