SUNDERLAND PEARLWARE TRANSFER PRINTED PINK LUSTRE JUG. Printed on one side with a view of the cast-iron bridge over the river Wear, the other with the ship “NORTHUMBERLAND.74” with the name of the maker “Dixon & Co. Sunderland Pottery” to the right. Beneath the spout is the verse of “REST IN HEAVEN” within a floral garland. All heightened with iron red and green enamels within pink lustre squiggle border. SIZE: 8-1/2″ h. PROVENANCE: Robert Frederick Woolworth Estate, Monmouth, Maine. (F.W. Woolworth Store). CONDITION: With surface scratches and wear to lustre on rim and spout. With old shallow chips to base rim.
