Lot Added. DESIRABLE 18″ MUNICH ART GIRL CHARACTER DOLL. Munich Art dolls were produced during the earlier part of the 20th century by Marion Kaulitz. Long associated with the famed Kammer & Reinhardt Doll Company, oftentimes there is a striking resemblance between the Munich Art dolls & the K*R character dolls. The Munich Art dolls were somewhat simplistic in facial painting and head construction (a composition of sorts), they utilized a variety of German ball jointed composition doll bodies, this particular model is on a fully jointed marked Kestner body. Today these dolls are highly sought after by collectors not only for their rarity but charm as well. She has dark hair, facial coloring and her high waisted dress, she appears to be in original condition with regards to her facial painting and clothing. A very nice example with a somewhat different facial expression than other examples that have surfaced more recently. SIZE: 18″ h. CONDITION: Overall in very fine condition with only a small paint chip to her lower lip and a ding/chip to the tip of her nose. 1-12566 (3,500-6,500) Auction: Advertising, Toy & Doll - Fall 2012 Please Note: All prices include the hammer price plus the buyer’s premium, which is paid by the buyer as part of the purchase price. The prices noted here after the auction are considered unofficial and do not become official until after the 46th day. |
