PHILLIPS FRISBIE LEWIS (American, 1892-1930) “JACKS PEAK” (MONTEREY, CALIFORNIA). Oil on canvas scene shows five thin trees with no foliage in foreground looking through to a grass and tree-covered mountain/hillside with sandy cliffs. At the base are some houses and a body of water. Signed lower right, “Phillips Lewis”, titled on reverse of stretcher and housed in a painted over gilt, molded wood frame. Jacks Peak is located in Monterey, California. On back of canvas in pencil “1924”. SIZE: 24″h x 28″w. PROVENANCE: Descended through the family of the artist.
