Both 3342 & 3343 were consigned from an estate. It was our belief that they are both original and in outstanding condition. However, a couple collectors have voiced concerns that they are so good that they must be restored and there seems to be no positive was to prove one way or the other. Therefore, we do not guarantee that these lots have not been restored. LIONEL 763E ENGINE & TENDER WITH ORIGINAL BOXES. Another amazing engine from the same closet as the Lionel 5344, this engine is very close to being in unplayed with exceptional condition. The gun metal gray finish is near flawless. Tender has a few minute paint chips on base edge. Rubber stamping is crisp and vibrant. Nickeling to bell, whistle and railings are brilliant. The boxes are intact and very firm. Locomotive box has one detached internal end flap and one internal missing flap. No box insert. These trains have been tucked away in the closet and a newspaper indicates that they have been packed away in 1978 and have not seen the light of day for 30+ years. A few train lots following were evidently the ones children played with. But this engine as well as the 5344 must have been off limits to the children. Included with this particular lot is the original instruction manual for this locomotive. SIZE: Overall 22″ l. CONDITION: As noted. 1-9823 (1,750-2,750) Auction: Advertising, Toy & Doll - Spring 2010 Please Note: All prices include the hammer price plus the buyer’s premium, which is paid by the buyer as part of the purchase price.
