PATENT MODEL WASHING MACHINE. Patented Oct. 8, 1878 by J. Wells, Pat. #208,777. Trapezoidal wooden tub with hand crank on side that turns textured wringers to send clothes through. Appears to have had at one time maker’s plaque (now missing). Accompanied by original patent tag (missing small pieces and showing crease marks). SIZE: 12″ l x 14-1/2″ w x 8-1/2″ t.
