FEDERAL TRANSITIONAL PAINT DECORATED AND GRAINED PINE DRESSING TABLE. First quarter 19th century, found in South Paris, Maine. Rectangular top with rounded front corners joined to a shaped splash guard above the conforming frieze fitted with a single long drawer raised on square tapered legs. The whole decorated with simulated rosewood graining and with mustard colored stringing. Splash guard and drawer each with stenciled floral spray. SIZE: 33″ h overall, 28″ h of top x 33-3/4″ w x 17-1/2″ d. CONDITION: With original surfaces and brass pulls. Top with old horizontal shrinkage crack and with some craquelure.
