Additional Information: Repair to cow catcher. IVES CANNONBALL TRAIN. One of the largest floor trains produced by Ives at the turn of the 20th century. Large steam locomotive is painted black with gold highlights and red wheels. The number 189 is cast into sides of tender. There is also a large japanned boxcar with two sliding doors for entry and the words “UNION LINE” cast into both sides of car, and a large japanned passenger car with the words “LIMITED VESTIBULE EXPRESS” embossed above its windows. Tender, boxcar and passenger car each have eight wheels. It’s hard to believe that such a large and heavy train was made for a child to play with. SIZE: 54-1/2″ l. overall. CONDITION: Train is in very good plus condition, with some chipping to roofs of cars and some general wear to wheels from age.
