WILLIAM MASON BROWN (American, 1828-1898) ADIRONDACK SUNSET. Unsigned oil on canvas scene shows a hillside with three figures and two dogs. They look down in a valley with pond and two other figures next to a church with buildings. On another bluff is a homestead with two figures, path and fences. The whole looking out onto a mountain valley steeped in colorful sky with sunset colors of pink, yellow and blue. A very attractive scene with much detail. Housed in a period gesso decorated naturalistic motif deep frame. SIZE: 22″ x 30″. CONDITION: Very good, relined, minor inpainting. 9-93200 (15,000-25,000)
