VERY RARE ENGRAVED VOLCANIC ARMS NAVY PISTOL. Cal. 41. SN 2121. Fine Volcanic Navy with the very rare 6″ bbl with integral magazine tube and usual bbl address. The frame is beautiful, full coverage, engraved on the sides and top flats consisting of foliate arabesque patterns with a very fine punch dot background. The engraving patterns extend around the hammer slot and down the back strap. It has the assembly no.”1″ on the left heel of the frame under the grip which number also appears on the left side of the lever. The serial number is on the right side of the frame under the grip and appears on the lever, side plates and internal parts. This pistol has the very rare feature of matching numbered smooth ivory grips. The inside of both grips are marked in ink “DAVID B. HUFFMAN REAVILLE N.J. 1945” the right grip also has the notation “JEWELER”. The right grip has a worm hole around the grip stud. CONDITION: Very good to fine. Bbl retains traces of blue mixed with mottled patina having been cleaned a long time ago. Bbl address is about half legible. Frame retains about 80% orig nickel-plating with edge wear and moderate wear on the sides. Front and back straps are a dark brass patina. Lever and hammer have dark patina with some hammer marks on the lever. Grips have a worm hole on the right side with age lines in the butt and around escutcheons. Mechanics are fine. Bright shiny bore with a few scattered spots of light pitting. 4-57559 JR311 (20,000-35,000)
