LUSITANIA PASSENGER STEAMSHIP TIN SIGN. Self-framed sign with a simulated rope border depicts the four-stack Lusitania from the Cunard Line on its New York to Liverpool run. The Lusitania made her maiden voyage in 1907 and was tragically sunk by German torpedoes on May 7, 1915 prior to the outbreak of WWI. Lithographed by H.D. Beach Co., Coshocton, Ohio, circa 1905. SIZE: 39″ wide x 27-3/4″ high. CONDITION: While the graphics of the sign remain in very good condition, at some point in this sign’s life it has had a thick varnish layer applied with broad brush strokes that has since yellowed with time.
