SHOWROOM MODEL OF A FORD TRI-MOTOR AIRPLANE. The real plane was also known as “The Tin Goose”. 199 planes were manufactured from 1925 until 1933. The plane which was sold all over the world was originally designed for use as a civilian aircraft. However, they could easily be converted for military use as well. These planes were in commercial use for decades, most notably used by Scenic Airways for 65 years giving tours over the Grand Canyon. This plane is an exact copy in reduced scale with much attention to detailing such as the ribbed tin siding, motors, landing gear, etc. These scale model planes were purported to have been displayed in select Ford automobile dealerships during the 1920s-1930s. A very extraordinary model/toy and a great opportunity for toy collectors, plane enthusiasts, or for those who admire history to acquire a great piece of American aeronautical history. SIZE: 37-1/2″ wingspan. CONDITION: Overall very fine + with minor damage to wing tips. 1-10531 (2,500-4,500)
