CARVED AND PAINTED AMERICAN BARBER POLE. Mid 19th century from a private Virginia collection. This diminutive double ended model in original paint with red, white and blue striping and a gilt ball finial on each end. Additionally fitted with original iron mounting bracket. A rare and desirable form. SIZE: 36″ l. CONDITION: Structurally very good with original surfaces. Top of upper ball finial with minor shrinkage due to weathering, well within normal parameters. 9-21785 (4,500-5,500)
