LOT OF TWO SWORDS. 1) Ames Model 1833 artillery sword. 1) 18-3/4” triple fuller blade marked “N.P. AMES /SPRINGFIELD” on the right ricasso. “UNITED /STATES /184 /JCB” on the left. A large “W.A.T” is stamped on the right side of the cross guard. The remains of an American eagle appear to be above the Ames marking. The scabbard is missing. CONDITION: Blade has been heavily cleaned with wire brush marks overall, and some light pitting remains. Hilt has minor dents. 2) Unidentified Naval Sword. 26-3/4” dbl fuller blade with no markings. The guard is cast with leaves and an anchor. There is a dolphin head on the quillion. The grip appears to be horn. CONDITION: Gray patina with light pitting. Dark patina on the hilt.
