CYLINDER MUSIC BOX “PICCOLO”. Beautiful rosewood case with large floral inlay 4-1/2″ X 8″ on lid and scroll inlay 1-1/2″ X 7-1/2″ on front. String and diagonal band inlay on lid and front. Nice molding around base and lid. Floral inlay has yellow, green and red flowers in it. Inside the lid is very nice tune card, one corner broken off but present. Listing ten tunes. Molding on base and lid is nicely ebonized as is inside of the case. Mechanism appears to be in very nice original operating condition. Nickel plating is very nice, just needs minor cleaning. Music box holds 16-1/2″ cylinder. Box has two springs and tune indicator. Mechanism has fancy mandolin attachment but rice paper for mandolin is missing. Plays nicely. Has a very bright and pleasant tone to it. Very old with nice patina. SIZE: 29-1/2″ w X 11″ d X 8-1/2″ t. CONDITION: Large eared governor is missing two teeth. Case would be enhanced with a nice polish. Case does have minor 3″ crack on the left corner and a 4″ crack on the right side.
