IMPORTANT FEDERAL BOWFRONT DRESSING TABLE IN CREAM PAINT. New England circa 1810. The bowfront or demi-lune dressing table with scrolled splashguard, fitted with a central frieze drawer and accompanied by an original free-standing and conforming glove box on ball feet. Paint-decorated overall in original cream paint with beige and green border stripes. The splashguard and drawer fronts decorated with foliate sprays and fruit clusters. The whole raised on tapered squared legs. SIZE: Overall height 35 3/4″ W 35 3/4″ D 18 1/2″. Glove Box dimensions: H 4 3/4″ W 20″ D 9 3/4″. PROVENANCE: Estate of Dr. Lee W. Richards Jr. of Augusta, Maine. Obstetrician & Augusta’s first specialist. CONDITION: With all original surfaces and elements.
