WALTER BLACKMAN (American, 1847-1928) PORTRAIT OF A GYPSY. Outstanding oil on canvas shoulder portrait of a young woman with red scarf in hair and lavender and white dress. Side view shows her wearing a gold hoop earring and gazing to the right. A nice light yellow to blue background. Signed upper left. Housed in what is probably its original antique gesso decorated gilt frame. Retains its original label which is affixed to back. SIZE: 21” x 17”.
