WILLIAM TELL CROSSBOW BANK. Probably made in Australia, this used to be considered an extremely scarce bank. Several examples have turned up over the last several years, but it is still hard to find. Figures of William Tell and the little boy are cast in alloy and the rest of bank is sheet metal. Coin is placed on crossbow when it is pulled back and locked into position. Lever is pushed and coin is propelled into tower, depositing coin while knocking apple off boy’s head. SIZE: 14-1/2″ l. CONDITION: Very good, with some paint loss to green base and tower. 1-9923 (500-800) Auction: Advertising, Toy & Doll - Spring 2010 Please Note: All prices include the hammer price plus the buyer’s premium, which is paid by the buyer as part of the purchase price.
