LARGE IVORY CARVING. 19th century, China. Figure of a female warrior. The standing figure in full dress, sword held in her right hand, standing on a fantastic rocky plinth entwined with conifers. Various mythical creatures displayed beneath robe. Accompanied by carved stand. SIZE: Carving: 43-1/2″ h. PROVENANCE: Ex-Eu Tong Sen/Jenny Eu Collection. CONDITION: Loss of jeweled strand in headdress, horizontal 1″ section of trim on sleeve absent. Minor old vertical hairline age cracks. Overall very good with nice tan patina. 9-27864 (1,000-1,500)
