TIFFANY STUDY FOR HIS PAINTING “THE CHILDREN WAITING”. Wonderful sketch and color study is attributed to Louis Comfort Tiffany. A photograph of the painting is pictured in the book Louis C. Tiffany: The Garden Museum Collection by Alastair Duncan on page 58; lower left. The study is a sketch and watercolor on artist board. Board is embossed in the lower right corner “L Berville 25 Chaussedantin” all within an artist palette outline. Housed in a contemporary aluminum frame with glass front and back to examine all sides of the artist board. Matted with an engraved tag stating original “Tiffany Studios Prototype for Oil”. Unsigned. SIZE: Sight Size: 24-1/2″ x 19″. Overall 29-3/4″ x 24″. CONDITION: Very good with a minor crack to board in lower left border. Some minor staining and spotting. 5-63317 (2,000-3,000)
