HISTORIC TIFFANY SKETCH FOR A MOSAIC PANEL. Wonderful Tiffany sketch depicts a mosaic panel with underwater aquatic scene with jewels surrounding the scene in a large mosaic framework. Underneath the sketch is printed “Suggestion of Mosaic Panel for Mrs. Cyrus McCormick Lake Forest, Ill”. It is noted as sketch number 3125 with a scale 1 1/2″-1’0″. Also marked “Ecclesiastical Dept. Tiffany Studios New York City N.Y.” also marked “Approved by” and signed in pencil “LC Tiffany”. Mrs. McCormick was the wife of Cyrus McCormick who was the founder of International Harvester. Sketch is housed in a narrow green and gold frame. SIZE: Overall 13-3/4″ x 19-1/2″. CONDITION: Very good with some minor staining and spotting to the paper. 5-63320 (5,000-7,000)
