SCARCE “ROYAL TRICK” ELEPHANT BANK. Manufactured in Germany around 1910, this bank came with or without verse. This is the former version, with verse on the side: “Put a coin in the slot, then you’ll see something funny. Press my tail hard and I’ll swallow the money.” Elephant is lithographed in bright greens, reds and golds, and a young child would certainly be attracted by such brilliant colors. SIZE: 4-1/2″ h. CONDITION: Bank is in good condition with some in-painting to the elephant’s blanket, base and ear. Overall, still a fairly attractive bank. 1-9942 (500-800)
