RARE NEW ENGLAND PAINTED PINE CHECKERBOARD. 2nd quarter 19th century. Square checkerboard applied with tray molding decorated with squares of bittersweet red and marbleized green within mustard outlines; reverse with mustard graining. Assembled with square nails. SIZE: 13-3/4″ sq. CONDITION: Untouched original condition with minor and normal surface blemishes to frame. Very good overall. 9-22777 (1,400-1,800)
