FINE THREE-RAILING LUOHAN CHUANG BED. 19th century or earlier, Qing dynasty, China. This nice example in Hongmu or Huanghuali with three railings on three sides, each carved with a dragon. The back railing depicting two opposing dragons centering a Lingzhi all centering a woven hardboard mat seat within rectangular bed frame. The aprons carved with archaic scrolls raised on four stepped square legs terminating in square feet, similarly carved. Now together with a pair of matching elm stools of cracked ice design. SIZE: Bed: 32″ overall h x 80″ l x 29″ d. Stool: 4″ h x 18″ l x 18″ w. CONDITION: Structurally very good, retaining original elements. All surfaces have been cleaned of original finish and all patina. Now with mellow brown color, and French polished surfaces. 9-27438 (3,000-5,000)
