AFTER FREDERIC SACKRIDER REMINGTON (American, 1861-1909) “THE NORTHER”. Recast bronze after the original by the Roman Western Bronze Works. Inscribed on edge of base “Roman Western Bronze Works Inc. #90”. The classic bronze shows a man atop a horse with lowered head standing in a cold water stream buffeted by the wind. Mounted to a green and black marble rectangular base atop a molded wood plinth. SIZE: Bronze: 21″ h x 18″ l x 7″ d. Incl. Base: 18″ x 10″ x 23″ h. PROVENANCE: Estate of Henry A. Rudkin Jr, (family of the founders of Pepperidge Farm). CONDITION: Very good, one rein with break. 9-98991 (1,000-2,000)
