Oval oil on canvas half portrait showing a young woman with brown hair seated in a red upholstered chair wearing a white dress, pink neck ribbon and green shawl. Signed lower right “Powell 1848”. Possibly by William Henry Powell (American, 1823-1879) Housed in its original fancy gesso decorated oval frame. The canvas having an “Edwd. Dechaux New York” canvas stamp. SIZE: 16″ x 12″.
