LOT OF 3 TIN VENDING BANKS. Lot consists of three vending banks: French 1950s “Chocolat-Menier”, “Stollwerck” hand shadow and cigarette. “Chocolat-Menier” is shaped like a kiosk and dispenses chocolate when coin is placed in slot. “Stollwerck” is brightly lithographed with different scenes of hand shadows on front and sides. The most unusual is the cigarette vending bank, which has scenes of young children all puffing on cigarettes. Although The Bank Book by Bill Norman says that this bank dispensed real cigarettes, we can only hope for the children’s sake that they were candy cigarettes! SIZE: Tallest 10-1/2″ h. CONDITION: French bank is fair to good. Stollwerck is excellent plus. Cigarette bank is excellent, but is missing original trap. 1-9935, 1-9938, 1-9940 (700-1,000) Auction: Advertising, Toy & Doll - Spring 2010 Please Note: All prices include the hammer price plus the buyer’s premium, which is paid by the buyer as part of the purchase price. The prices noted here after the auction are considered unofficial and do not become official until after the 46th day. |
