INTERESTING NORTHWEST COAST DECORATED WOOD MASK. The mask decorated in red, blue, green and black paint having two holes carved for eyes and the open mouth. The mask is fitted with two holes on each side for rawhide band. Probably 19th century, southern Kwakiuti. Probably representing “Komokwa” (undersea god). SIZE: 10″ x 8″ PROVENANCE: From a private Maine collection. CONDITION: Mask has been broken vertically and re-glued, otherwise good. 9-96702 (2,000-10,000)
