“SECOURS”, PATINATED METAL STATUE AFTER WAAGEN. Late 19th century. Depicting a young sailor on the bow of a small craft in windswept stormy seas in the act of throwing a life line to an unseen victim. The rear of the statue marked “Waagen Sept” front of plinth with the title “SECOURS”. SIZE: h. 28″ h. of stand 27″. CONDITION: Very good overall. Brown patinated metal with original surfaces. The woven “Rope” may not be original. This item is being sold together with a square pine stand with molded edges and splayed legs. 9-20148 (600-800)
