CURRIER & IVES (PUBLISHER, 19TH CENTURY) TERRIFIC ENGAGEMENT BETWEEN THE MONITOR AND MERRIMACK. Colored lithograph shows the two iron-clads firing on each other. The fight occurred in Hampton Roads in 1862 where the Merrimack was crippled and the whole rebel fleet was driven back to Norfolk. Housed in a black gold edged modern frame with highlighted mat. SIZE: Image size: 15-3/4″ x 22-1/2″, sight size: 18″ x 23″. CONDITION: A restoration to left side, tears and a light water stain upper left. Otherwise very good.
