HATCH FAMILY JOSLIN’S PATENT TERRESTRIAL GLOBE, BOSTON. Second quarter 19th century. Manufactured by Gilman Joslin Company of Massachusetts and titled “Joslin’s Terrestrial Globe Containing all the late discoveries and geographical improvements, also the tracks of the most celebrated circumnavigators”. This edition “Revised by G. W. Boynton”. Globe mounted within a calendar and astrological ring on a cast iron bracket revolving on a tripod paint decorated base with original paint decoration. SIZE: 37″ h overall x approx 11-1/2″ d of globe. PROVENANCE: Ex-Hatch Family, Kennebunk, Maine. CONDITION: Globe and all accompanying parts in very good condition overall with minor blemishes and small losses to printed paper. 9-96471 (6,000-8,000)
