HATCH FAMILY TWO SIDED SCRIMSHAW WHALE’S TOOTH. Early 19th century. This nice two sided example scrimmed on the front with a floral plant emanating from a classical urn highlighted in red ink. The opposing side depicting three auks beneath a bird in a small tree. SIZE: 5-3/4″ h x 2-1/2″ wide x 1-1/4″ d. CONDITION: With nice color and patina and clear etching. Small shrinkage cracks evident. Very good overall. 9-96464 (1,000-1,500)
