CHINESE CARVED TEAK MARBLE TOP FERN STAND. 2nd half 19th century. The circular top with a border carved with scrolling vinery and beaded edge centering an insert rose marble above the frieze pierce-carved with grapevines, raised on four angular cabriole legs headed by carved mythical foo dogs, the knees floral-carved continuing to stylized ball-and-claw feet, the legs joined to a circular medial shelf. SIZE: 26-1/2″ h. x 23″ overall dia. CONDITION: Structurally good, with original surfaces now worn from extensive use. Marble circumference exhibiting roughness to edges. 9-99132 (300-500)
