MAGIC BANK AND INDEPENDENCE HALL BANK. First bank manufactured by J. & E. Stevens. This bank would appeal to the children at the turn of the 20th century who would really like a magic show. When coin is placed on cashier’s tray, like magic, the door spins, the cashier disappears and coin is deposited. Brightly multi-colored in gray, red and blue, a very attractive building. Second bank manufactured by Enterprise Co. Modeled after Independence Hall tower in Philadelphia. Coin is placed in slot, lever rings bell in tower. Painted all gold and embossed on base “1776-1876 CENTENNIAL”. SIZE: 5-1/4″ h., 9-1/2″ h. CONDITION: Roof of magic bank has cracks in it, which is very common for this particular bank, and at some point bank appears to have been lacquered. Overall very good condition.
