HATCH FAMILY MEMORIAL WATERCOLOR. Second quarter of the 19th Century. Depicting a winged female angel within a cloud, wearing a sash and carrying a quill pen suspended above a field of trees. Reverse inscribed as follows: “My mother born July 28, 1774 Died…My father born October 10, 1776 (Joseph Hatch Jr (wrote above) Born 1798) Joseph S. Hatch Grandson of above born April 27, 1829. Joseph I. Hatch, great grandson of above, born March 24, 1860. Joseph R. Hatch, great-great grandson born December 17, 1886. Joseph W. Hatch, great-great-great grandson Born June 18, 1922. (I filled that in so that JSH is the son of the JH Jr. who wrote the first three lines. Joseph Richmond Hatch). Unframed. SIZE: 8-1/4″ x 10-1/4”. PROVENANCE: From the Captain Joseph S. Hatch family of Kennebunk, Maine. CONDITION: With general overall fading, minor and minimal foxing. Very good overall. 9-96468 (300-500)
