SPANISH COLONIAL CARVED AND POLYCHROME-PAINTED STATUE OF A MONK. Late 18th, 19th century. Carved from the solid, depicting a bearded figure with outstretched arms rendered with skull cap in a full length cape and robe on an octagonal plinth. SIZE: 36″ h. CONDITION: Old painted surfaces dried and flaking and with losses to fingers on left hand. Face has been recently painted, the head of the figure may possibly be a later addition.
