JOE PENNER AND BUTTER & EGG MAN TOYS. These are Pre-War and Post-War examples of the same windup toy by Marx. Earlier Joe Penner version walks forward with goose at side. Joe tips his hat and wiggles cigar. Later, more colorful, version is called The Butter and Egg Man. Sign on goose reads “Eggs Laid to Order”. Other hand carries case of “Fresh Country Butter”. SIZE: 8-1/2″ t. CONDITION: Joe Penner shows very light fading to duck, otherwise lot is bright, clean, and working. 1-13275 (500-900)
