EASTMAN JOHNSON (American 1824-1906) THE HOMESTEAD. Oil on heavy paper scene shows a house with porch in back of a gated entrance with wood fence. A figure will wheelbarrow sits in front of gate post. Signed lower right with an “E”. Housed in what appears to be its original matte in a replacement gilt frame. Scene is painted with rounded top corners which conforms to the matte. PAPER SIZE: 6-3/4” h x 10-3/4” w. SIGHT SIZE: 6” x 9”. CONDITION: Very good. 9-74908 HP (20,000-30,000)
