CLOWN ON GLOBE MECHANICAL BANK. Manufactured by J. & E. Stevens. Originally sold as the “Funny Clown” bank, this one has the tan base. When globe is brought into position and lever is released, globe and clown whirl around in a very amusing manner. Clown sits on top of ball with an expression that seems to say, “Come here and deposit money in my bank, and I’ll perform for you!” Bank was designed by James A. Bowen, who created some of the most appealing and intricate banks for Stevens. SIZE: 9″ h. CONDITION: Excellent plus, with some minor wear at high points. Definitely a superior example of this bank. 1-10458 (3,500-5,500)
