ANATOLE JEAN GUILLOT (French, 1865-1911) FRENCH INFANTRYMAN. Late 19th century. Depicting a French infantryman with backpack and bolt action firearm on a circular molded socle with the artist’s name “J. Guillot” engraved on the surface, in turn, joined to a stepped onyx plinth. Being sold together with a 20th century onyx pedestal with pressed brass capital and base. SIZE: Statue 19-1/2″ h. Pedestal 43-1/2″ h x 12″ x 12″. CONDITION: Statue retains original patination with wear marks. Appears to have been polished over time. Otherwise good. Base with old original surfaces, the column with polished filler used in the final production, the base with visible seams. Underside of top with stone imperfection. 9-97188, 9-20183 (1,750-2,250)
