DRAGON ROBE. Probably 19th century, China. The blue/black collar embroidered with opposing dragons amidst cloudbands above waves. The sleeves with ribbed black panel, the cuffs embroidered with dragon, bats and cloudbands. The main panel embroidered with gold dragons chasing pearls amidst blue cloudbands, bats in shades of orange and red interspersed with clusters of fruits and shou characters above the lower border embroidered with sea foam and waves The lower border of wavy polychrome lines. The whole on an imperial yellow silk ground. SIZE: 56″ h. CONDITION: Very good with minimal and slight pulling. 9-28384 (3,000-5,000)
