RARE GIRL SKIPPING ROPE MECHANICAL BANK. Manufactured by J. & E. Stevens. This bank is one of the most sought-after of all the mechanical banks. Bank is extremely scarce and visually one of the most artistic banks ever made. The action of the girl skipping rope is fabulous. When the mechanism is wound and the lever is pulled, the simulation of the girl skipping rope is perfect. Body, head, feet and rope all move in unison, but each part performs independently in its own appropriate manner. It does not get any better than this!! If you had to own only one great mechanical bank, this would be the one. SIZE: 8-1/4″ h. CONDITION: Paint shows significant age and quite possibly this bank could have been restored 80-100 years ago. Mechanism works, but sporadically. Winding key not original to bank. 1-9880 (10,000-15,000)
